Alterna Slate
Appearance
Alterna slates display an EVEN FLAT FACE and straight edges. They are available in a number of different sizes and formats to suit a variety of architectural designs and applications including vertical and curved cladding. The 600x320 and 450x320 have cropped corners at one end which gives the appearance or reduced width. These slates are reversible so that the square corners can also be visible. Effective patterns can be made utilising these slates to create individual styling. The 600x300 is a standard rectangular slate pre-holed for ease of fixing. The 400x400 is a diamond shape and is also pre-holed.
Fixing
All slates are fixed with two nails and one crampon. Because the 600x320 and 450x320 are reversible they have to be holed on site to suit the lap and orientation of the slate.
New Stonit Slate

Such attention to detail provides conclusive proof that the physical characteristics of fiber cement can be harnassed to approximate the beauty of natural slate.
